U.S Warez FTP Siteop gets sentenced to probation E-mail
Monday, 01 September 2008 00:00

One siteop of the USA warez site "TEN" (The Ether Net) has plead guilty and unconfirmed reports show has been sentenced to three years probation. Robert Hardick, one of three siteops and sysadmins of the warez site TEN. The complaint found here also states that Robert Hardick uploaded and download from other sites such as "TBR" (The Boxer Rebellion) and "NHR" (Night Ranger Hideout, a .edu in the state of Virginia)

The other people listed in the complaint, also sysops of TEN, Steven Fiatarone and Michael Uszakow have yet to be sentenced. Steven has plead guilty and is scheduled for September 25, 2008 sentencing, and  Michael doesn’t appear to have plead guilty yet.

The complaint (available here) alleges that the defendants uploaded and downloaded many programs by Autodesk, Adobe, Symantec and others. Criminal Copyright Infringement charges like this are becoming more and more common as the spiderweb of what is known as Operation Site Down grows larger and larger as more and more people get charged.

Eli El, aka "conq" was sentenced earlier this year to 30 months in prison for criminal copyright infringement related charges related directly to being a member of the same FTP site in question, The Ether Net.
